First, I want to thank each and every one of you for being part of this journey. Over the past 20 years, your support has meant the world to me. Whether you’ve been here since the milblog days or joined more recently, I’m incredibly grateful for the time you’ve spent reading, engaging, and sharing my work.
Today, I’m taking an exciting step forward: I’m transitioning this Substack to a paid subscription model. I didn’t make this decision lightly, and I want to share with you why this change is happening and what benefits are in that for you.
The Value of My Work
Infiltration has always been a problem for political activism groups, militias, and similar organizations. Time and time again, these groups are targeted by government agents, operatives from the other side, or individuals with harmful agendas. Unfortunately, the same tactics continue to work, often leading to frustration, distrust, and a loss of political engagement—which is precisely what those tactics are designed to achieve.
My work brings a psychological and intelligence perspective to these dynamics. I explain why these groups fail, how infiltration works, and most importantly, how to build trustworthy, solid, and infiltration-proof organizations. With my background—including degrees in intelligence studies, criminal profiling, and trauma counseling, as well as firsthand experience as a former activist who has witnessed infiltration up close—I offer insights that are both deeply informed and actionable. Sometimes my work flies in the face of conventional wisdom on the topic; then again, if the conventional wisdom was working, the tired old tactics wouldn’t.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping groups and even businesses clean up their operations, tighten down their hiring, start fresh, and become stronger. This work has always been my passion, and now I want to take it even further. No matter how much #winning you think is happening, the dangers of complacency are always real.
Why a Paid Subscription?
Until now, I’ve written on this Substack only a few times a year. While I’ve always strived to deliver high-quality content, the truth is that balancing in-depth research and writing with other responsibilities has been challenging. Moving to a paid model will allow me to dedicate more time and resources to this work, ensuring that I can provide you with:
More frequent posts: You can expect regular content, delivered on a consistent schedule.
Higher-quality analysis: With the ability to focus more on writing, I’ll be diving even deeper into the topics that matter most.
Engaging formats: From long-form articles and case studies to quick tips and how-to guides, I’ll be expanding the variety of content I offer.
This change isn’t just about sustainability—it’s about creating the best possible experience for you, my readers.
What’s Coming for Subscribers
As a paid subscriber, you’ll have access to a wealth of benefits, including:
Exclusive content: Bonus material and downloadable resources designed to help you create stronger, more effective organizations.
Interactive opportunities: Polls, Q&A sessions, and the chance to suggest topics for future articles.
A Commitment to You
I want to reassure you that my commitment to high-quality, action-oriented content hasn’t changed. If anything, this transition is about doubling down on that commitment. I’m here to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and insights you need to navigate the challenges of your groups and build something that actually makes a difference in something other than your blood pressure.
How to Subscribe
Subscribing is easy, and I’ve kept the price accessible to ensure as many people as possible can benefit. For those who may be hesitant, take a look at my past articles for an idea of what kind of content is the baseline here. I think you’ll find that it’s well worth the $5 a month, or $50/year.
Don’t forget to check out the extra benefits for founding members!
An Invitation
Thank you again for your support over the years. It’s because of readers like you that this work has grown and flourished. I’m thrilled to embark on this next chapter and hope you’ll join me.
